On November 1, 2019, JOF launched the third of our four-course Orthopedic Primary Care 2.0 program, a new, self-paced online offering paired with hands-on skills workshops. The course prepares clinicians to diagnose and manage common musculoskeletal conditions in primary care settings.
The newest offering, Spine & Metabolic Conditions, joins Upper Extremity & Pediatrics and Lower Extremity & Arthritis/Inflammatory Conditions. The fourth course, Musculoskeletal Skills & Procedures, opens February 1, 2020. Each course, which can be taken in any sequence, offers a valuable in-person skills workshop upon completion of online work. Read full course descriptions at our website.
OPC focuses on non-surgical approaches to managing stable acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions with an emphasis on managing pain, maximizing function, preventing injury, and slowing disease progression. Enrollment is open to nurse practitioners, currently enrolled NP and DNP students, clinical nurse specialists, physician assistants, primary care physicians, and advanced primary care providers.
The program offers 80 CEs per course, which includes 65 hours of online learning and 15 hours of hands-on skills practice. The entire OPC program (the four courses) costs $1,750. Individual courses cost $500 each. You can sign up for one course or the entire program here.
