Halloween is creeping closer, and that means one of our favorite JOF traditions is almost here: Canes! On Sunday, October 25, we’re bringing the JOF community together at Creekside Commons in Lafayette for an afternoon of Halloween fun, good company, and a great cause. Kids are welcome, costumes are encouraged, and tickets are pay what you can, because we want everyone in our community to be able to join us. And while Canes is a celebration, it also has a serious purpose. As JOF’s biggest fundraiser of the year, it helps us expand access to musculoskeletal education for today’s clinicians, create opportunities for students exploring healthcare careers, and provide needs-based scholarships. So come share a little Halloween time with us and be part of an afternoon of costumes, community, and changing lives Event details
What's happening at CanesCanes is designed to be fun for the whole JOF community. This year, you can look forward to our costume contest, our popular online silent auction, an informative panel discussion featuring our volunteer preceptors, and plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Most importantly, it’s a chance to come together around a shared purpose: helping more healthcare professionals develop the skills and confidence to provide better musculoskeletal care What your support makes possibleMuscle, bone, and joint conditions are part of everyday healthcare, from back pain and arthritis to osteoporosis. But many primary care clinicians have had limited formal training in how to assess and manage them. With demand for care growing and the healthcare workforce already under pressure, building those skills is increasingly important. JOF helps clinicians develop the practical knowledge and confidence to provide effective musculoskeletal care through affordable, evidence-based education. Funds raised through Canes help support two of JOF’s core programs:
Your support also helps JOF provide needs-based scholarships, making educational opportunities more accessible to students who might otherwise be unable to participate. The impact doesn’t stop with one student or clinician. Every person who gains new knowledge, skills, and confidence through JOF has the potential to improve care for many more patients, families, and communities. How you can take part in CanesCome celebrate with us on October 25 and help make this work possible. Tickets are pay what you can, so everyone in our community is welcome. Want to make an even bigger impact? Canes sponsors help JOF keep continuing education affordable, expand access to training, and provide scholarships for future healthcare professionals. Sponsorship opportunities are available for individuals, businesses, and organizations, with a range of ways to participate and be recognized. You can also help make the day a success by volunteering before, during, or after the event. However you take part in Canes, we hope you’ll join us on some level. Together, we can celebrate the JOF community while helping today’s clinicians and tomorrow’s healthcare professionals build the skills they need to improve patient care.
