Welcome Healthcare Immersion Program Class of 2026!

We’re delighted to welcome the 2026 cohort of Jackson Orthopedic Foundation’s Healthcare Immersion Program (HIP): Jaylene Banaag, Danica Bagayna, Megan Truong, and William Anderson.

Over the course of the four-week program, our students will shadow experienced healthcare professionals in a variety of clinical settings, gaining first-hand insight into different healthcare careers and the many roles involved in delivering high-quality musculoskeletal care.

Alongside their clinical experiences, students will attend weekly clinical conferences, connect with healthcare professionals, and learn more about the education, skills, and experiences that can shape a career in healthcare.

HIP alumni leading the way

This year’s program is led by staff coordinator Rachel Chen and student coordinator Ryan Hodge, both alumni of the Healthcare Immersion Program.

Having experienced HIP as students themselves, Rachel (who also was a student coordinator last year) and Ryan bring a valuable perspective to their roles. They understand the questions, opportunities, and new experiences that come with exploring a future in healthcare, and will help guide and support this year’s students throughout the program.

We’re grateful to have former HIP students returning to help create a meaningful experience for the next cohort.

About the program

One of JOF’s most popular programs, the Healthcare Immersion Program is a flexible, month-long summer experience for college students exploring careers in healthcare.

Participants shadow experienced San Francisco Bay Area healthcare providers and attend weekly clinical conferences, logging approximately 80 to 100 hours of real-world exposure. Students gain a closer look at different healthcare professions, clinical environments, and approaches to patient care.

Designed to accommodate jobs or summer classes, schedules are tailored to each student. The program is open to students who have completed at least one year of college and are interested in exploring a future in healthcare.
