Thanks to everyone who made our Spring Orthopalooza 2-Day Workshop a success! The focus of the April 21-22 event was on musculoskeletal fundamental skills, with students including a mix of advanced practice nurses, NP students and physicians.
Our next Orthopalooza is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 21-22. The focus will be Upper Extremity: common disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, as well as relevant orthopedic injections.
Each quarterly Orthopalooza 2-Day clinical skills Workshop offers a fast-paced opportunity to practice skills needed to confidently manage MSK conditions in primary care. Workshops are held at Creekside Commons in Lafayette, California, and emphasize active learning through the use of case studies, demonstrations, models, and guided practice of focused physical examination skills.
Day 1 of April's workshop provided a broad overview of basic principles for diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, with Day 2 emphasizing joint injections.
Feedback was positive:
Orthopalooza workshops are part of our suite of continuing educational opportunities that also include a range of online and blended-learning courses (10 to 320 hours).
