9/9/2021

Picture
Update: due to uncertainty about COVID-19, we rescheduled this event for April 8 & 9 2022. Watch for more news soon.

Get ready for Orthopalooza! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we've had to postpone our popular Clinical Skills Workshops -- until now. We're excited to again offer one of our popular in-person, musculoskeletal skills workshops for clinicians, Oct. 8-9, valued at 15 CE Hours.
About the event
Join us for a fun and educational two days covering fundamental musculoskeletal skills and procedures common to primary care settings. This Clinical Workshop is designed both for students enrolled in our Orthopedic Primary Care Courses (OPC), as well as other front-line clinicians looking to acquire new evidence-based skills they can use immediately with patients.
Space is limited to 20 participants.
  • Where: Creekside Commons, Lafayette, California
  • When: Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9, 9am-5pm each day (two full days)
  • CE Value: 15 Contact Hours
  • Price: Free for currently enrolled OPC blended-learning students; $250 for other participants.

Workshop Highlights:
  • Corticosteroid Injections & Arthrocentesis: Evidence-based techniques for corticosteroid injections are presented emphasizing principles of safety and efficacy. Skill lab sessions provide students with time to practice every injection technique on anatomical simulator models that provide audio feedback when needle placement is accurate.
  • Splinting & Casting: This lab covers basic musculoskeletal injury immobilization and management in accordance with the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologists curriculum. Participants practice applying and removing splints and casts with coaching and feedback from experienced clinicians.
  • Maximizing Function & Managing Pain: This lab focuses on interventions aimed at increasing patients’ ability to control MSK pain, maximize function, and prevent further injury through a variety of self-management and lifestyle changes. Participants will learn to discuss, use, demonstrate, and prescribe evidence-based modalities and devices.
We're grateful to be able to hold in-person workshops again -- and we hope to see you there!
